Manager of External Reporting

Summary:
Our Client, a large, Life Sciences company headquartered in the Boston Area is seeking a Manager of External Reporting to manage the preparation and filing of the companys external reports.  This position is a great stepping stone to other areas of the organization, allowing good exposure to senior management and an ability to develop a solid understanding of a growing industry in the Boston Area.
 
Responsibilities:
Review and manage the timely preparation of accurate filings with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including MD&A and XBRL requirements.
Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the company’s quarterly earnings release financial information package and income statement flux analysis.
Liaison with other corporate functions including investor relations, communications, tax, treasury, financial planning and analysis and business development.
Review press releases and presentations including investor and rating agency presentations.
Serve as a primary liaison with the independent auditors regarding financial statement disclosures and supporting documentation..
Assist with the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), primarily with regard to financial reporting.
Manage staff, including goal setting and performance evaluations.
Manage the Sox 404 process and documentation with respect to the financial reporting process.
Assist with the preparation of responses to SEC comment letters.
 
Requirements:
8-12 years experience, including supervisory experience 
Big 4 CPA
Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements
Knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise, Retrieve, HFM a plus 
Experience with a large multi-national publicly traded company a plus
IFRS knowledge a plus
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong interpersonal skills 
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and work independently
Detail oriented
